New Delhi : A man, who had been absconding in a murder case for the last 18 years has been finally arrested, police said on Sunday. He was 19 at the time of the crime.
Sanjay, 37 was arrested from east Delhi's Seemapuri area Saturday on a tip off.
"He had murdered a man -- Haroon Viopari -- on April 23, 1993 suspecting that he had stolen from his scrap shop in Nandnagri (east Delhi)," said an official.
"Sanjay along with his brother, Jagdish and father Chander Bhan had beaten Viopari with iron rods. Viopari later succumbed to his injuries," added the official.
Sanjay, only 19 when he committed the murder, had a reward of Rs.10,000 on his head.
