New Delhi: A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the killing of an elderly woman in Lajpat Nagar in New Delhi.
Kamlesh, an employee of the shop of Vimla Ahujha (62) who was found dead with a head injury at the ground floor of her house on Sunday, was arrested after examination of the CCTV footage, a police officer said.
"The accused was arrested from his home district in Uttar Pradesh. Cash and other items which were stolen were also recovered from him," he said.
Kamlesh was employed by the victim a few months back. His role in the murder and theft was suspected after examining a CCTV footage where he was seen roaming around in the area, the officer said.
