Man arrested with heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore in Delhi

New Delhi: A 34-year-old man was arrested in Delhi with a consignment of heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore, said police on Thursday.

Om Prakash alias Langada, who is suspected of working in the sale and supply of heroin in Delhi for over 10 years, was arrested on Wednesday from near a metro station where he had come to deliver the drugs.

"Based on secret information, Om Prakash was arrested and the police also seized 1.5 kg heroin worth of Rs. 1.5 crore from him," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways) Ravindra Yadav.

During interrogation, Prakash, a resident of west Delhi's Uttam Nagar, revealed that his father had started selling liquor due due to insufficient income. Initially, he also joined him but later he changed his lone of work and started selling drugs.

"He started selling heroin since 2002. He used to procure heroin from Mohan, resident of Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh," said the official.
