New Delhi: A 30-year-old telecom executive was burnt to death after his car went up in flames here, police said on Thursday.
Pardeep Arora, a resident of Dilshad Garden in east Delhi, was on an official trip when his Alto car caught fire in Adarsh Nagar area of north Delhi.
Arora struggled to come out the car, but he got trapped inside as the vehicle's central locking system failed.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baniya said that eyewitnesses saw smoke coming out of the car. Fearing that the blaze was caused by some explosive, passers-by kept a safe distance from the car and called the police and fire brigade.
But Arora died before he could be rescued.
He is survived by his wife Esha and a younger brother.
