New Delhi:
A man was today held at Delhi airport for allegedly smuggling in half-a-dozen gold biscuits from Saudi Arabia.
Officials said the accused has been identified as Naseem A (31) hailing from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. He arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on an Air India flight from Riyadh via Mumbai and was intercepted by CISF based on an intelligence input.
"Six gold biscuits have been seized from Naseem after he landed this evening. He hails from UP's Saharanpur," a senior official said.
The accused had allegedly hidden the gold biscuits inside a torch in his registered baggage. He has been handed over to customs authorities for further action, the official added.
