New Delhi: A 30-year-old man died after he allegedly jumped in front of an oncoming Metro train at Jorbagh station in New Delhi on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Manjeet Singh, a resident of Sangam Vihar colony in south-east Delhi.
Metro services were briefly affected because of the incident last night.
No suicide note was recovered from the deceased and police are trying to ascertain the reason behind him taking the extreme step, said a senior police official.
Mr Singh was seen on platform no.1 at around 9.05 PM when he allegedly jumped in front of a Metro train headed towards Huda City Centre on the yellow line, the official added.
After the incident, Mr Singh was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police have contacted his relatives and his body will be sent for a post mortem, the official said.
