Man jumps to death from Metro station

New Delhi: A 22-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from an elevated Delhi Metro station on Tuesday, police said. This is the fourth such incident on the Metro rail line in the last six days.

Anil Kumar, a resident of JJ Colony in Okhla jumped from the Govind Puri station in south Delhi at around 11.30 am.

He was rushed to the a hospital where he was declared dead.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) BS Gurjar told Indo-Asian News Service that Mr Kumar was standing on the platform. "Suddenly he came on to the terrace and leapt on to the road."

The reason for his suicide is not known at present.
