Man kidnaps cousin to hide affair with sister-in-law
New Delhi: How selfish can a person become to achieve his immoral motives? If the act of Palam resident Karmveer is considered, then selfishness can even lead to taking a life.

On January 21, Karmveer kidnapped his 8-year-old cousin and left the child on a railway track hoping that he would be run over by the train. The child's death, he had thought, would get his whole family's attention and during that period he would be able to elope with his sister-in-law, with whom he claimed to have fallen in love.

The incident came to light when Delhi police were investigating the case of a child who had been kidnapped from Palam area. During the probe, the cops were informed by railway police that a small boy had been found on the tracks. The boy's hand was injured and on being asked, he had narrated the whole incident to the cops. Based on the boy's statement, the police arrested Karmveer and a case of kidnapping and attempt to murder was registered against him.

During investigation, police came to know that Karmveer had even called PCR the day he had kidnapped the boy and reported that Vikas, his sister-in-law's husband, was involved in a robbery that had occurred in Dwarka. However, on interrogating police had found Vikas to be innocent.

It was found that Karamveer was in love with his sister-in-law and just to divert the attention of the family members, he had attempted to kill his cousin. He had even planned to marry her after running away from their home. The cops have now sent the accused to judicial custody and the boy has been handed over to the family.
