Man killed in alleged road rage case, wine bottles in deserted car

New Delhi: Another incident of road rage has come to light in Delhi where a 32-year-old autorickshaw driver was beaten to death in Sector 5, Rohini at 3 am on Friday.

The victim, Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Budh Vihar, was returning home from his auto which accidentally bumped into an Innova car. Four people came out of the car and started beating Rajesh. One of them hit the autorickshaw driver with a brick on head which led to his death on the spot.

The police are investigating if these men were drunk. They have arrested Vinod, and are looking for the three absconding men. The police have also recovered six bottles of wine from the car during search.

"When I got out of my house, I saw these men hit the victim with a brick on his head... they were drunk and liquor bottles were lying in the car," said an eyewitness.

The police have sent Rajesh's body for post-mortem.

"This is a case of road rage. His auto collided with the Innova car. The men in the car first thrashed Rajesh and then hit him with a brick on the head which led to his death," said his brother Vinod Kumar.

The family of the victim lives in a miserable condition and has nowhere to go.

"I've faced many difficulties in bringing up my children after my husband died 18 years ago. Now what will I do? The police are not helping us," said his mother Sangeeta Devi.
