A man has been arrested for allegedly dealing in goods looted during highway robberies as stolen items worth Rs 15 lakh were recovered from his possession, police said Thursday.
Accused Monu was caught by a team of Delhi Crime Branch on a specific input, from Function Ground, DDA Park in Patparganj, Wednesday.
Looted goods including shoes, medicines, spare parts, woollen clothes and other merchandise were recovered from him, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch).
During interrogation, he told police that the goods were looted from a truck in Dadri on November 7. He also revealed that he worked with notorious highway robber Ramu and his gang who would supply him with looted goods that were sold in UP and Delhi, Mr Yadav said.
Monu also disclosed his involvement in another highway robbery case registered at Hardwa Ganj police station in UP.
