Massive Jams in South Delhi Due to Protests Outside Jal Board Office
New Delhi: There are massive traffic jams in South Delhi today due to a protest by workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at the Delhi Jal Board office.

Around 300 people are protesting at the Jal Board's office which is located near the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor near Greater Kailash-1 - one of the busiest roads in South Delhi. Protesting since 9 am, they are demanding proper water lines in some of the unauthorised colonies of south Delhi.

Due to the demonstrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has enforced traffic diversions. All cars from the Siri Fort BRT crossing have been diverted towards Greater Kailash and Siri Fort road. They are not being allowed to ply on the BRT corridor towards the Delhi Jal Board office.

Vehicles coming from the Moolchand Crossing towards Chirag Delhi have been diverted towards Andrews Ganj.

The diversions have resulted in traffic around the area taking a big hit. Defence Colony to Greater Kailash 1 - a distance of about two kilometres that takes about five minutes to cover - is today taking over an hour to commute.

Traffic at nearby roads from Andrews Ganj to Chirag Delhi is also caught up in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
