MBA student among three arrested for armed robbery in Delhi

New Delhi: Three people, including an MBA student from Symbiosis in Pune, have been arrested for their alleged role in a string of armed robberies in the national capital region, police said today.

According to the cops, the student Upendera Gupta along with Shahbaz Ahmed and Gautam Koli alias Jony were apprehended by the police on Wednesday from Basai Dara Pur.

Police have recovered one pistol with three live cartridges, a car that was used in robberies, four gold bangles, five rings, two gold tops, two gold chains, a mangal sutra, two pendant and a Rolex wrist watch.

The gang came under the police scanner after one of the victims reported about a robbery on October 12. He said that one of the accused robbed his diamond ring and took out Rs 2,000 from his purse while another person held his mother and servant captive in the house at gunpoint.

Later, both the attackers locked all three in the house and fled with laptop, mobile phone, Rs 25,000 in cash and other valuables, police said.

During interrogation, all three reportedly confessed about the crime apart from some other robberies in Delhi and Noida.
