New Delhi: Two men were shot dead this morning after unidentified men on motor cycles opened fire at a market in Central's Delhi's Rajendra Nagar.
The victims -- Ram Charan, 42, a labour contractor and Lakhan Lal, in his 40s, a businessman -- were killed, allegedly over a property dispute case pending at a court in Delhi.
"Ram Charan died on the spot while Lakhan Lal was rushed to BL Kapoor hospital in an unconscious state, where he succumbed to injuries," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Parmaditya.
The family members of Ram Charan suspect the murder to be linked with the property case. "Ram Charan received a death threat and was offered Rs 2 lakh to stop testifying in the case," said a family member, Gopi Chand.
The police have filed a case of murder. No arrest has been made so far and the CCTV footage of the area is being screened to identify the attackers, police said.
