New Delhi: Mercury today shot up further in the Capital where the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.5 degree Celsius, four notches above normal. The maximum temperature rose to 38.5 degree Celsius, four notches above normal, as against 36.6 degree Celsius yesterday.

The minimum was at 23.1 degree Celsius, three degrees above normal, the MeT office said. Yesterday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 22.1 degree Celsius.

Hot weather conditions are likely to intensify in the national Capital as maximum temperature is likely to rise to 39 degree Celsius tomorrow, the MeT said, adding that the minimum temperature is likely to be around 23 degree Celsius.

The city is likely to witness a partly cloudy sky tomorrow with probability of dust storm or thunderstorm in some areas towards evening, the weatherman predicted.

On April 3, the maximum had touched 38.7 degree Celsius, the highest so far.
