A slight earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale was felt in Western Uttar Pradesh early on Tuesday with light aftershocks being experienced in parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the epicentre of the quake, which took place at 3.37 am, was Baghpat in Western Uttar Pradesh. The intensity was "slight", said an official.
As a result, mild tremors were felt in parts of the capital and National Capital Region. However, no serious damage was reported.
