New Delhi: The body of a missing businessman was found on Tuesday in a park in south Delhi, police said, adding it seemed he had been murdered.
"Police rushed to the spot upon receiving a call about a dead body in the Delhi Development Authority park in Maidan Garhi area from a passer-by around 2 pm," a senior police officer said
Upon investigation, the deceased was identified as Vijender Singh, 45, of Lado Sarai, who was missing since Sunday.
Police sources said Singh was last seen near his photo studio on Sunday, after which he went missing. Also owning several small business outlets like general stores and so on, Singh is survived by his wife and two daughters.
According to police, it seemed that the man was murdered but the exact cause of death could be confirmed only after the medical reports come.
"The body has been sent for post-mortem and we are awaiting reports. A case of murder has been registered and we are further investigating the matter," the officer said,
According to sources, it seemed the man was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped there.
Police said they were talking to the victim's family members to ascertain if he had any enmity with anyone or if he had been threatened recently.
