New Delhi: A 32-year-old woman was battling for life on Monday after jumping in front of a Delhi Metro train with her two daughters, who miraculously survived, police said.
The woman leaped from the platform as the train was entering the Seelampur Metro Station in east Delhi. The train halted after people on the platform raised an alarm.
The woman, who was run over by a couple of coaches, suffered serious head injuries, police said. The daughters, aged aged four and two, were lucky.
While one child got minor injuries, the other "is absolutely fine", a relieved police officer said.
The woman was rushed to the Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital. Police said the woman took the extreme step because of a family dispute.
