New Delhi: There was some respite on Monday for residents of Delhi, who are reeling under biting cold this winter.
After a rainy night, Delhiites woke up to a warmer but cloudy morning with minimum temperature settling five degree celsius above normal at 11.6 degree celsius. Today's minimum was up by over three degrees from yesterday's 8.4 degrees, the Met Department said.
Last night's showers measured 0.6 mm in the rain gauge.
There was shallow fog in the morning but it did not have much impact on the operations at the Indira Gandhi International airport.
The Weatherman has predicted that the mercury may come down to seven degrees in the morning tomorrow while during the day, the temperature may rise to 20 degrees.
Delhi saw severe cold wave conditions for most of December with the mercury dipping to as low as 2.9 degrees on the December 25.
