NHRC Notice To Health Ministry, Safdarjung Hospital
According to the rights panel, it had learnt from media reports that doctors at Safdarjung Hospital allegedly left a surgical blade inside the body of minor girl leading to her death.
New Delhi: The NHRC on Monday issued notice to the health ministry and Safdarjung hospital following the death of a minor due to negligence in the hospital.

According to the rights panel, it had learnt from media reports that doctors at Safdarjung Hospital allegedly left a surgical blade inside the body of minor girl leading to her death.

Further it said that when the child's father took up the matter of pain to her daughter, the doctors allegedly ignored him, despite the x-ray showing the presence of a surgical blade in her body.

Taking suo motu congnizance of the entire issue, the commission has stated that if the content of the report is true, then it raises serious issue of violation of human rights of the child.

The commission has issued notice to the health secretary and the chief medical officer of Safdarjung Hospital calling for factual reports within two weeks.
