Even as the nation is trying to come to terms with the gang-rape of a 22-year-old photojournalist in Mumbai, it has emerged that a 15-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped the New Delhi earlier this week.
The minor was allegedly abducted by three persons from outside the Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi and then taken to Chhattarpur, where one of them raped her.
A senior police official has said they have arrested the main accused, while his two accomplices are on the run.
According to the police, the 15-year-old had come to the Safdarjung Hospital to look after her sister who had delivered a baby there, three days before the incident. When she was coming out of the hospital, she forgot the way home.
She was then abducted by the main accused who took her to the Chhattarpur area, where two of his accomplices were already present.
"She was raped by the main accused while two of his friends molested her. They then hired an auto-rickshaw for her till the Safdarjung Hospital," the police official said, adding she narrated the whole incident to her parents who decided to approach the police.
"We booked the main accused for raping the victim and his friends under sections of protection of child from sexual offence. The security guard of the hospital helped the police nabbing the main accused," said the police official.
Raids are being conducted to nab the two missing men.
