NRI student allegedly murdered in South Delhi

The body of Anmol Sama was found in a pool of blood on late on Friday night outside Southpark Apartment in Kalkaji area

New Delhi: A 21-year-old student was killed after he was attacked, allegedly with a beer bottle, at a party his friends in Delhi, police said on Saturday.

Anmol Sama, an NRI and who completed his high school from New York and was living in Greater Kailash in south Delhi, was found in a pool of blood on late on Friday night outside Southpark Apartment in the nearby Kalkaji area.

Police reached the spot after being informed by a passerby. He was taken to AIIMS where he died at around 2: 30 pm. Doctors who attended on him said there was a deep injury mark on Anmol's head, which probably was a result of a blow of a heavy object. He died due to excessive loss of blood.

The apartment in Kalkaji where Anmol and his friends had gathered for a party on Friday night belongs to a student named Chiiki, who was supposed to go to London for higher studies.

During the party, a scuffle broke out among them and someone allegedly hit Mr Sama on his head, according to the police. After the attack, Anmol reportedly ran outside the house where he collapsed and was later found.

Police said they have rounded up four of his friends and are questioning them. They have also informed Anmol's family members who are living aboard.

A First Information Report or FIR has been registered under section 304.
