NRI woman murdered by her husband in Delhi
New Delhi: A business development manager working with a travel agency in Delhi has been arrested for killing his NRI wife at his south Delhi residence.

The accused, 31-year-old Sumit Handa, reportedly had strained relations with his wife Niranjani, who was 27 years old. After murdering her at his residence on October 29, he concealed her body in a plastic bag and took it to a deserted area in Haryana, where he burned it.

After returning from Haryana, Sumit lodged a police complaint claiming his wife was missing. Initially  he told the cops thaton October 30, his wife served him tea laced with sedatives. Once he woke uphe saw she was gone with some cash and jewellery.

However, during the investigation, police were informed that he had an altercation with Niranjani. When questioned about this, he confessed to killing his wife and took the police to the location where he had burned the body.

Sumit had met Niranjani in Durban, South Africa in 2005. He used to work in her father's office. The two got married in 2007 and moved to India in 2011. They have a one-year-old son.
