On his way to wedding, man lands in lockup

New Delhi: Sunday afternoon proved to be an eventful one for Madhur and his family. The young man and his relatives were on their way to attend a wedding when he and his sister were allegedly taken into custody at gunpoint by cops in northwest Delhi.

DCP of northwest Delhi, Meenu Chaudhary said that she will look into the matter as she wasn't aware of the incident.

A police source posted with northwest district said the youth identified as Madhur was brought at Mahindra Park Police station by cops when he was going to attend a marriage function. Madhur's family members had made a PCR call that men who were in police uniform intercepted their car and took Madhur along at gunpoint.

"They came in a green car bearing number plate DL3C6225 and took us into custody. They took Madhur along. When we asked them to produce a warrant they demanded we come to Mahindra Park Police station pointing a pistol at the forehead of a girl from Madhur's family," said police source, quoting the PCR call.
