One Killed, 18 Injured In Dust Storm In Delhi

New Delhi: A two-year-old girl was killed and 18 others were injured in rain and dust storm-related incidents in different parts of Delhi, fire service officials said today.

In North Delhi's Motiya Mahal area, a wall collapsed on the roof of an adjacent house during the dust storm around 10 pm on Sunday in which the girl was buried to death while her sister and parents were injured, said deputy chief fire officer Atul Garg.

The family was sleeping when the old wall collapsed and its debris fell on the roof of their room. While Mansa was killed her four-year-old sister Kahkashan and parents were injured.

A portion of a heritage building housing a post office too collapsed at the same time in which no casualty was reported although five vehicles were badly damaged.

In other such incidents between 10 pm and 10.30 pm, over 12 people were injured who have been admitted to hospitals.

Two persons Amit and Man Singh were injured in a wall collapse near Naryana flyover. Ten people were injured in incidents of building collapse at Narela and Najafgarh areas, the official added.
