New Delhi: More than 500 PCR personnel of the Delhi Police have been trained in soft skills and English to improve their communication and interaction with foreigners and the general public, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

The Delhi Police regularly conducted 40-day training programmes since February 2015 to develop soft skills and improve the communication in English by their personnel.

Till June 30 this year, a total of 532 PCR (police control room) personnel have been imparted this training, Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said.

In a written reply to a question by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) lawmaker Bheemrao B Patil, Ahir said foreigners were not engaged for imparting the language training.

The move has improved the communication skills of the police personnel while dealing with foreigners as well as the general public.

Delhi Police has dedicated helpline number 8750871111 for the redressal of grievances of the foreigners, he added.
