Over Rs 32 Lakhs Cash, 34,000 Liquor Bottles Seized in Poll-Bound Delhi
New Delhi::

Election Commission-appointed surveillance teams have seized over Rs 32 lakhs cash and 34,000 liquor bottles as part of their drive to curb illegal inducements to voters in poll-bound Delhi.

As per latest data filed by Election Expenditure observers to the poll panel, over 90 teams, flying squads and static vigil squads have seized a total of Rs 32,20,000 cash, 34,323 number of liquor bottles and 35 fire arms since the Assembly polls were announced here on January 12.

The Commission has nominated over two dozen observers, drawn from Income Tax, Service Tax, Police and Excise departments for this task, and they have been recently directed to step up their vigil across all the 70 Assembly constituencies and their adjoining areas as the countdown to the polling day has begun.

Delhi will go to polls on Saturday and the counting of votes will be held on February 10.
