New Delhi: An unidentified caller on Sunday triggered alarm bells at a Delhi Metro station in west Delhi after claiming that a bomb was planted inside the premises. But it ultimately turned out to be a hoax, an official said.

The Central Industrial Security Force or CISF personnel carried out a thorough check inside the Patel Nagar metro station and the coaches but found nothing.

An official at the CISF's Delhi Metro helpline told IANS that the threat call, received at 8.30 pm, was a hoax.

The Delhi Police were trying to trace the number from which the call was made, he added.
