New Delhi: A 29-year-old woman, who had come as an attendant with her husband admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, was allegedly molested by a security guard, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place Wednesday night and the accused, identified as Amod Kumar (23), has been arrested under Sections 342 (wrongful confinement) and 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal.
According to the police, the accused targetted the woman when she went to the washroom on the third floor of the Trauma Centre around 10 pm.
He allegedly followed her and "misbehaved" with her.
The woman raised an alarm and a crowd gathered around and the police was informed.
The woman and her husband, both from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, had come to Delhi on October 24 for the latter's treatment at RML Hospital.
"Security guard Amod Kumar Choudhary has been terminated from his duty with immediate effect after an FIR was registered against him," said a senior official at RML administration.
