New Delhi:
A 35-year-old physically challenged woman was raped allegedly by a man in central Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
The incident was reported from Chandni Mahal area on Monday evening when the victim was alone at her house. The accused, identified as Rajesh (29), sneaked into the house and started making immoral gestures towards the victim.
The victim shouted for help and some neighbours rushed to the house and started banging the door, a senior police official said.
He escaped from the house following which a call was made to the police.
She was taken to Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan hospital where a medical examination confirmed sexual assault. Rajesh has been arrested.
