New Delhi: A pizza delivery man has been arrested in South Delhi for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl while delivering an order at her building.
Amit was employed with Domino's Pizza and had gone to the building in South Delhi around 11.45 this morning, the police said.
The accused was coming down from the third floor after delivering the pizza when he saw the child on the ground floor landing of the staircase. The spot was already dark due to the weather. Still, he switched off the lights and molested her, the police said.
When the five-year-old cried out in pain and raised an alarm, Amit fled from the spot, the police said. The girl then narrated the incident to her mother.
The family then went and complained at the Domino's outlet from where they had ordered the pizza. But when they demanded action, the management promised to sack the delivery man, but they also tried to dissuade them from calling in the police, the family claimed.
Shortly after that, the family lodged a complaint with the police.
"Domino's is a good, reputed company. What kind of people are they employing?" said a member of the child's family.
