New Delhi:
Delhiites today woke up to a pleasant morning with the temperature falling considerably after rain lashed the capital overnight.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 21.8 degree Celsius, five notches below normal. The Safdarjung observatory recorded 17.2 millimetres or mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
The Palam observatory recorded 0.8 mm rainfall. The India Meteorological Department predicted rain with thunderstorm today in several parts of New Delhi.
"The sky will remain partly cloudy throughout the day. Rain and thunderstorm are expected to occur at many places. The maximum temperature may settle at 37 degree Celsius," a weather department official said.
Yesterday, rain accompanied by dust storm and thunderstorm lashed New Delhi, giving relief to people after days of blistering summer heat.
The minimum temperature recorded yesterday was 27.1 degree Celsius, while the maximum temperature was 39.6 degree Celsius.
