Police allege BSP leader's wife was killed by stepsons

New Delhi: Rehana, the second wife of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Uttar Pradesh Haji Aleem, was allegedly killed by two of her stepsons in New Delhi over a property dispute, Delhi Police said on Sunday.

"30-year-old driver Nadeem, who belongs to Meerut, was arrested and during his interrogation, the case was cracked. It was a pre-mediated plan. Rehana's step-son Anas got an easy entry into the house since he was raised by her. After entering the house, the other step-son Danish and driver Nadeem attacked BSP MLA's wife and killed her," said V V Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner of Police, North East Delhi.

Rehana was murdered over a property dispute, the police said, adding that her two stepsons are yet to be arrested.

Rehana was found murdered on October 9 morning at her New Jafrabad residence in North East Delhi while the MLA was out of India on Haj pilgrimage.

The post-mortem report had shown 11 stab wounds on the victim's body, besides two gunshot wounds.

Rehana married Aleem in 1990. The couple has no children. Aleem has 28 cases pending against him while his brother is named in 16 cases.
