Delhi Police arrested the man accused of killing a girl in his friends Mercedes in Delhi's Najafgarh

Delhi Police have arrested the man accused of killing a 17-year-old girl near her house in southwest Delhi's Najafgarh area. The police also arrested the friends who was accompanying the teenage girl and the accused.
Shubham, the accused, was on the run since Wednesday after allegedly killing the girl because he disapproved of her friendship with another boy, Nitin. After a heated argument, in a fit of rage, Shubham allegedly shot the girl who had gone to Rajouri Garden with Yogesh and him to have lunch. The police said Shubham was arrested in Haryana on Friday.
"We have arrested Shubham in Haryana and he confessed his crime during interrogation ," Deputy Commissioner of Police Surendra Kumar told news agency IANS.
Shubham reportedly told the police that he had a heated argument with the minor girl over her friendship with Nitin. Shubham had been angry with the girl for the last few days. On December 20, when he had gone to drop the girl at her house with Yogesh in the latter's Mercedes, he saw Nitin standing close to the girl's mother, the police said.
"He was upset that the girl's family was in touch with her friend and shot at her with Yogesh's pistol," police said. They said that at the time of the incident Shubham claimed that he was under the influence of alcohol and was depressed.
"Shubham was depressed as the girls parents neglected him," Mr Kumar said.
On the day of the murder, her mother had called her around 7 PM, asking her to return home soon as it was getting late. She assured her that she would be back soon. The victim's mother said when they returned, she saw the car as it reached near their house and saw Yogesh walk away which was followed by a gun shot. On rushing to the spot, she found her daughter dead.
"Three days police remand of both accused Shubham & Yogesh have been obtained in Najafgarh minor girl murder case. Shubham & Yogesh arrstd in Njfgarh minor girl murder case. Sec 302, 363 IPC, 25, 27, 30 Arms act & 77 JJ Act imposed (sic)," tweeted Surender Kumar, DCP (Southwest).
"Shubahm had been hiding at Tughlakabad. We received a tip off on Friday afternoon. Our team laid a trap and we held him on late on Friday evening," the police said.
Police said they have also charged Yogesh, the owner of the pistol and the Mercedes car, under the appropriate sections of the Arms Act.
