New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi today congratulated the police band and its contingent for its display of "strength and valour" during the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi.

He also expressed his gratitude to the men of the force for their effort in ensuring "foolproof security arrangements".

In a series of tweets, Mr Bassi referred to the role of personnel of other forces who partnered with Delhi Police in providing security arrangements for the Republic Day. He noted the role of police personnel engaged in back-end technical tasks.

"I thank all security forces for partnering with us & making Republic Day celebrations a grand success. Jai Hind," Mr Bassi tweeted.
"Congratulations to the Delhi Police Band and parade contingent for such a magnanimous display of our strength and valour. Proud of you!"
"Be it 24x7 vigil, winter chill or high security threat - nothing hs deterred your spirit. I raise a toast to every single man and woman of Delhi Police."
"A special congratulations to our back-end technical & control room team, who kept us connected and helped us make foolproof security arrangements," Mr Bassi said.
Delhi Police worked round the clock to provide security for the Republic Day celebrations at which French President Francois Hollande was the chief guest.

With an alert about a possible terror attack in the wake of terror strike in Pathankot earlier this month and the arrest of terror suspects from different parts of the country, the police made additional efforts to ensure security.
