New Delhi: A Police Control Room (PCR) van of Delhi Police was on Wednesday hit by a car that was later chased and intercepted by police resorting to one round of firing, near Kotla area in South Delhi.
The suspicious looking car was flagged down by PCR personnel but it sped away and hit their van at around 1.40 pm.
Later, it was chased by the PCR van as it headed towards South Extension, a senior police officer said.
The car hit the barricades at Bachhendri Pal Marg Picket and sped towards Kotla Red Light during which the staff in the PCR van fired one round on the car's tyre to stop it.
It was finally intercepted near Gurudwara Kotla Mubarakpur with the help of another PCR van and its driver was detained.
A case has been registered against the driver Sumit, 23, under relevant sections of IPC at Kotla Mubarakpur police station, said the officer.
