New Delhi:
The worst northern grid collapse in 11 years brought Monday blues of various shades for Delhiites who woke up bleary-eyed from lack of sleep because of the power outage.
When they hit the roads to go to school and work, they found huge jams. With the Delhi metro operating minimal train services, there were many more vehicles on the roads. And then, traffic signals were not working.
Most main roads were jammed. People who commute from Delhi to Gurgaon reported much chaos and big delays.
Signals have since begun working in areas where power has been restored. The Traffic Police says that traffic in areas where power has not been restored will be physically manned till the situation is normal.
