New Delhi: Hours after Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar was questioned by CBI in a case of alleged corruption, he met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in North Delhi's Civil Line area on Tuesday night.

Sources said that Mr Kumar, along with senior lawyer HS Phoolka, who is associated with Aam Aadmi Party, reached the Chief Minister house situated on Flagstaff Road and apprised him about CBI's action.

"Rajender Kumar had met Kejriwal last night after he was questioned by CBI officials. In the meeting, Kumar urged the Chief Minister not to defend him as he himself will handle the issue," sources also said.

The meeting between Mr Kumar and Mr Kejriwal had lasted for around half an hour, they said.

Yesterday, Mr Phoolka had described CBI's action against Mr Kumar as "politically motivated" and said his client was being made a "scape goat".

The Principal Secretary of the Delhi Chief Minister was again questioned by CBI sleuths in the corruption case on Wednesday.

The probe agency's action yesterday evoked sharp reaction from Mr Kejriwal who accused it of searching files "unrelated" to the probe against Mr Kumar and claimed that a file relating to DDCA was scrutinised by it.
