New Delhi:
A man from Aligarh on Thursday tried to immolate himself at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi after he failed to get justice for his minor daughter, who was allegedly raped by an influential person of his locality four months ago, police said.
Frustrated over alleged police inaction on his complaint, Mukesh poured kerosene over himself and set himself ablaze.
Police personnel at Vijay Chowk doused the flames and rushed him to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital with 25 per cent burns, a senior police official said.
The Delhi Police, however, says they have found no evidence of his daughter being raped and have handed over the case to Uttar Pradesh Police.
The Uttar Pradesh Police said they will question his family about the incident.
