New Delhi:
A 45-year old former Indian Air Force officer, who was working as a general manager with a private company in Himachal Pradesh, was found stabbed to death in north-west Delhi on Sunday.
Surender Kumar (45), resident of Gurgaon Sector X, was found dead with three stab wounds on a footpath in Swaroop Nagar at around 9:30 am. He was stabbed on his neck and chest.
He had gone to Ambala on Saturday and did not reach his home following which his family had approached police.
"Kumar's brother is a Sub-Inspector in Haryana Police. As Kumar did not return home till late night, his brother managed to track the last location of his mobile to Swaroop Nagar. The family then informed police about it," a senior police official said.
During searches, police located the body and the family identified it as that of Kumar.
Kumar was driving his car from Himachal and parked his car in Ambala.
"According to his company policy, he cannot take the vehicle beyond a particular distance. As he had crossed that limit, he parked the car in Ambala and took a bus to Delhi," the official said.
Kumar had retired from Air Force a few years ago and was working as a general manager in the Himachal Pradesh-based company.
The official said it appeared that Kumar was killed somewhere else and his body was dumped there. His wallet and mobile phones were missing.
Investigators said it could be a case of personnel enmity or a case of robbery.
A case has been registered and hunt is on to apprehend the culprits.
