New Delhi: Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) today felicitated 232 drivers with a 'Road Safety Award' for having an accident-free record.
Delhi chief secretary D M Spolia gave away the awards to these drivers at a programme organised by the DTC.
Drivers, who had an accident-free record during 2013-14, were also given a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each.
Transport commissioner Gyanesh Bharti and DTC's CMD Debashree Mukherjee also attended the programme.
"Of 232 drivers, 74 drivers from west region were given award while 45 from north region received such award for having an accident-free record. Besides, 27 drivers and 26 drivers were felicitated with this award in south and rural regions respectively," DTC spokesperson R S Minhas said.
On this occassion, a quarterly in-house magazine was also launched.
