Robbers arrested in east Delhi

New Delhi: Four youths, allegedly involved in a series of robberies in Delhi and UP, were arrested in the
capital, police said.

The arrested have been identified as Ravi (24), Rahul (20), Sachin (20) and Amit (21), all residents of Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad.

"They were arrested from near Cross River mall in Karkardooma yesterday.Two country made pistols, four live cartridges and two motorcycles were recovered from their possession," I B Rani, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), said.

Ravi, the gang leader, used to collect information from his informers and target people. "They followed their target on their motorcycle and attacked them with their country-made pistol at a secluded place. If there was any resistance from the victim, they would use their pistol," Rani
said.

The gang was allegedly involved in a robbery of Rs 8.45 lakh at flyover Gokul Puri. They also allegedly robbed a woman of Rs five lakh in GB Nagar in UP.

"Ravi also told us that he purchased a motorcycle using robbed money," Rani said.
