New Delhi:
Three armed men robbed Rs 37.50 lakh from two employees of a security agency when they had gone to deposit cash into an ATM in Mansarovar Park area today, police said.
According to police, the incident took place at around 11:30 am when a cash delivery van of DSSSDV Security Agency reached a Union Bank ATM in Mansarovar Park area.
Two personnel went inside the ATM to deposit the money while the driver of the van and the security guard were outside it.
"Three armed man barged into the ATM and snatched the cash from the duo after overpowering them. During their escape bid, they also attacked the guard standing outside the ATM and after injuring him, fled with his gun," said a senior police officer.
On receiving the information, police cordoned off the area but the robbers couldn't be apprehended.
"We are questioning the employees of the security agency and the bank as well as it seems that the robbers were already aware that the cash van will come to the ATM at that time," the officer added.
