New Delhi: An unidentified man stole a Haryana-based jeweller's bag containing jewellery worth Rs 55 lakh from a baggage-scanning machine at a metro station in Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
The man walked off with Ravinder Soni's bag while he was being frisked at Chandni Chowk metro station. Soni, 35, had placed the bag in the scanning machine.
"Soni said he had bought the jewellery from Delhi's Katra Nawab area on Tuesday," said Sanjay Bhatia, additional deputy commissioner of police (crime and railways).
