A Russian diplomat allegedly tried to assault a cop after an accident with a biker in south Delhi
A Russian diplomat allegedly tried to attack a policeman after an accident with a biker in south Delhi in the early hours today. A First Information Report or FIR has been filed against the diplomat for rash driving and stopping a government official from doing their duty.
According to the police, the diplomat hit a biker and then rammed his car into a police barricade in Moti Bagh area. He allegedly refused to come out of the car after the accident and began arguing with cops present at the spot. The diplomat also allegedly tried to assault constable Naib Singh.
The Delhi Police, which does not have powers to arrest the Russian embassy official since he enjoys diplomatic immunity, will submit a report to the Home Ministry on the case.
