Family of six-year-old Devansh held a candlelight vigil at Jantar Mantar demanding justice for their child.
New Delhi:
Family of six-year-old Devansh, who was found dead in a water reservoir in Ryan International School, today held a candlelight vigil at Jantar Mantar demanding justice for their child.
"We are running from pillar to post seeking justice for our child who did not die accidentally but was murdered. We just hope that the Centre agrees to Delhi Government's recommendation for a CBI probe into the incident," his father Ramheet Meena, a paramedical staffer at AIIMS, said.
On January 30, Devansh Kakrora, a class 1 student at Ryan International School in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj, was found dead in a reservoir under the school's amphitheatre, following which the principal of the school, a teacher and three non-teaching staff were arrested on the charge of negligence causing the boy's death. All of them had got bail the same day.
The child's parents had written to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, HRD Minister Smriti Irani and the Prime Minister's Office demanding a CBI inquiry into the incident.
Following the request from parents and the findings of a magisterial probe which spoke of "suspicious conduct" of school authorities, Delhi Government had yesterday recommended CBI probe into his death.
