New Delhi: Security was today beefed up in Delhi after twin bomb blasts in a train at Chennai railway station in which a woman was killed and 14 others were injured.
"Security has been beefed up at crowded and important places like railway stations, bus stations, markets," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.
He, however, clarified that it is not a situation of red alert.
"A red alert is sounded in case there is any specific intelligence input which is not the case here. Additional security measures have been taken only as a precautionary step," he said.
A 24-year-old woman techie was killed and 14 others were injured, two of them critically, when two low-intensity bombs exploded in a span of ten minutes in two coaches of the Bangalore-Guwahati Express at the busy Central Railway station in Chennai early this morning.
