New Delhi:
A woman guard posted at Delhi's Sanjay Gandhi Hospital has been arrested for allegedly beating up a patient for jumping the queue.
According to a senior police official, a patient along with her daughter had come to the 'Out Patient Department' or OPD.
"As there was a long queue, the patient tried to jump and when the lady guard objected to it, they entered into an argument," said a police officer.
"The lady guard slapped the patient and later another lady guard started beating her. However, the matter was resolved only after the intervention of other people present in the area," said police.
The guard was arrested under section 323 (assault), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 34 (common intention) and was later released on bail.
A purported video depicting the incident surfaced which showed the guard slapping the patient and both pulling each other's hair in the end.
