New Delhi:
Eight men who allegedly assaulted the chief security officer of a five-star hotel in south Delhi 12 days ago have been arrested, police said today.
The security officer, 27-year-old Bhupender Nagar, had reportedly denied the group entry into a club at the hotel hours before he was attacked. The incident happened at around 5 am on February 13 outside another hotel in the area and was captured by a CCTV camera.
The attackers chased the officer after he left the hotel with his friends in a car and cornered him soon. The video footage from the CCTV shows the accused pulling out the officer and his friends from a car and then brutally beating them with iron rods. They reportedly also threatened them with a gun. The brawl is said to have continued for 30 minutes until one of the victims managed to call the police.
IANS reports that the attackers frequently visited the club. Two months ago, they had misbehaved with some guests and had created a ruckus there. Following this, the club had filed a police complaint against them.
