New Delhi: Five people, including two women, burnt alive a shopkeeper when he objected to the women putting up a stall outside his shop, police said on Friday.
"The burnt body of Vijay Arora was found on Friday inside his shop of spare parts at the Block T market in Khayala area of west Delhi," said a police officer.
According to police, two women, Chandrakanta and Krishna, in their 50s and three men -- Puran, Chaman and Raj -- have been booked for murdering 50-year-old Vijay Arora.
The accused women set up an earthen utensils stall outside Arora's shop. For the past few months, Arora had been asking them to remove their stall from outside his shop, which led to heated arguments between them.
"On Diwali (Nov 13) they had a scuffle," police told IANS.
"Today (Friday) all five accused went to Arora. Following a heated argument, they poured kerosene on him, set him on fire and pulled down the shop's shutter from outside," an officer told IANS.
"Arora's son informed us about the murder after he found his father's burnt body," the officer said.
Arora is survived by his wife and three children. He was the owner of three shops in the market, police said.
