And even as Delhi grappled with the horrific bus rape, there is news of a 6-year-old girl allegedly being raped by her neighbour in south Delhi.
The incident occurred on Sunday night at 10:45 pm near the victim's apartment in Turkman Gate. Police said the minor was playing outside her DDA flat when her neighbour, a labourer named Mohammad Rashid, lured her with a chocolate to his flat, raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.
The victim reached her house and narrated the incident to her parents. The parents then lodged a complaint with the police. The child was taken to a government hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape.
Rashid has been arrested. The 22-year-old works in a private factory in Mayapuri.
